Overview

ITI Electrician trade focuses on various aspects of electricity such as – wiring (residential, commercial and industrial), home appliances, electrical machines, lighting, electrical installations etc.

The main aim of this trade is to provide vocational training to candidates and turn them into qualified electricians! The course thus aims at developing a skilled work-force of qualified electricians in India.

Course Duration: 2 years

Qualification: Passed 10th class examination under 10+2 system of education or  its equivalent.

Approved by: NCVT

What students learn during the ITI electrician course-:

The course starts with basic safety practices. Further, you will be taught the following topics-

  1. Basic Electricity

  2. Effect of electric current

  3. Wiring systems

  4. Magnetism

  5. Electrical machines

  6. Transmission and distribution.

 

Who should join the ITI electrician course-:

  • Students whose interest is in the electrical field or interested in working on electrical equipment can join this course.

  • Those who want a high professional degree by paying low fees in a short time, so that they can get an excellent job in both the private sector and government sector, then they should also do this course.

  • Career Option

  • ITI passed electricians have diverse job opportunities available in front of them. They have access to both private sector and government sector jobs. Besides that, self-employment is another opportunity available in front of them.

  • Electricians may be employed in the installation of new electrical components or the maintenance and repair of existing electrical infrastructure. Electricians may also specialize in wiring ships, airplanes and other mobile platforms.

  • An employee in this class performs skilled electrical work in the installation, alteration, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment and wiring used in communication, light, and power systems. Assignments, supervision, and review are received from Building Maintenance Supervisor. The employee may supervise maintenance staff on a project by project basis. Performs related work as required.
